Un'anfora chiota dal santuario C3 di Mozia: implicazioni economiche, rituali e sociali di un'anfora greca nell'area sacra del Kothon

A Chian amphora from the Sanctuary C3 of Motya: economic, ritual and social implications of a Greek amphora in the Sacred Area of the Kothon · During the season of excavations 2003 carried out by «La Sapienza » Expedition to Motya, a Chian transport amphora was found in a votive deposit (D.691) lying inside the Sanctuary C3 in the Sacred Area of the Kothon. The analysis of this vessel gives the opportunity to reflect upon the spread of Chian amphoras in Motya and to understand the meaning of the utilization of Greek transport jars during the cults worshipped in the Sanctuary C3.
