Abstract
In 1947, after the official annexation of Fiume to the Federative Republic of Yugoslavia, Francesco Drenig decided to maintain the Italian citizenship and face the exile like so many other compatriots. In Italy he started working at the Cassa di Risparmio of Fabriano, but the separation from his city of birth was very agonizing and painful. The letters sent to his paintress and art historian friend Anna Antoniazzo Bocchina, conserved in the Archivio Museo Storico of Fiume, tell the last years of his existence. Drenig died some years later, in 1950.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
