A rescue excavation in the center of Thessaloniki, southern of the ancient agora and western of the Galerian palatial complex, revealed a significant part of a secular building, possibly a house, with a mosaic floor. The floor consisted of three rectangular panels, framed by swastikas alternating with birds. Only one of the mosaic panels with a venatio scene has been partly preserved. Mosaic and building can be dated at the Tetrarchic period.
