The article discusses Henk ten Have’s Global bioethics. An Introduction. The author’s thesis is that traditional (or classical) bioethics grounded on a liberal worldview should be set aside as it mirrors neoliberal values and be replaced by global bioethics, focused on so- cial and political issues and grounded in solidaristic values and common goods. The article suggests a different reading of classical bioethics and defends the idea that an integration of the two perspectives on bioethics, classical and global, can and should be achieved
