During the recent excavations in the Roman theatre of Terracina (December 2020) at the level of the ima cavea, two statue bases with dedications to the Caesars Gaius and Lucius were identified, with titles and public offices, but also the exceptional honor of being nominated to the consulate at the age of just 14. We learn that the two Caesares were patrons of this important Roman colony and that the inhabitants could be indicated with the ethnic Axurnates, after the name of the ancient Volscan settlement that preceded the colony of Tarracina, founded in 329 BC.

Abstract
