La politica di papa Eugenio IV tra Roma, Bisanzio e Firenze (1437-1439)

Papa Eugenio IV curò con molta attenzione e accuratezza l'organizzazione del Concilio unionista che avrebbe dovuto superare lo scisma tra la Chiesa occidentale e quella orientale. Parenti e stretti collaboratori furono i suoi rappresentanti nelle trattative che ebbero luogo anche a Bisanzio. Il contributo intende mettere in luce sia la rete di relazioni che il pontefice attivò per conseguire il suo fine e sia il ruolo che, nelle lunghe fasi preparatorie dell'assise, ebbe Cosimo de' Medici, alleato e banchiere di Eugenio IV.
