La democrazia bolognese di fronte alla crisi. 1860-1868

The article intends to provide a minimal contribution to the history of the democratic movement of Bologna by retracing the events of the Società Operaia in the first decade after the unity, focusing in particular on the figures of Quirico Filopanti and Giuseppe Ceneri, protagonists of the city's political season in the two-year period 1867-1868. Through the documents of the State Archives and the Civic Museum of the Risorgimento of the petronian city, the research highlighted the organizational work, activities and relationships of the association, pivot of a broader political system that also included the Unione Democratica and represented the model of the first reformist socialism of a Mazzinian and Garibaldian matrix, expression of the radical left.
