The paper deals with the arrival of the Friars Minor in Ferentino, in southern Lazio, and compares the architecture of their convent with the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, which was instead commissioned by the bishop. The purpose here is to contemplate architectural practices in the 13th century that, linked to the subject of burials and the “death market”, could clarify the assignment of a specific intra moenia area to the friars in the urban planning.

Abstract
The paper deals with the arrival of the Friars Minor in Ferentino, in southern Lazio, and compares the architecture of their convent with the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, which was instead commissioned by the bishop. The purpose here is to contemplate architectural practices in the 13th century that, linked to the subject of burials and the “death market”, could clarify the assignment of a specific intra moenia area to the friars in the urban planning.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
