The authors led this prospective study recruiting only patients undergoing transperineal ablation of the prostate (TPLA). TPLA, considered a microinvasive technique, uses diode laser energy, carried to the prostate tissue by 21G needles and optic fibers entering through the perineum. According to their results, TPLA shows significant improvements in terms of Qmax, postvoidal residual, and International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) at 1 mo, which were even more evident after 3 and 6 mo. Furthermore, they observe preservation of the ejaculatory function.

Abstract
The authors led this prospective study recruiting only patients undergoing transperineal ablation of the prostate (TPLA). TPLA, considered a microinvasive technique, uses diode laser energy, carried to the prostate tissue by 21G needles and optic fibers entering through the perineum. According to their results, TPLA shows significant improvements in terms of Qmax, postvoidal residual, and International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) at 1 mo, which were even more evident after 3 and 6 mo. Furthermore, they observe preservation of the ejaculatory function.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
