Risvolti psicologici della pandemia sul personale infermieristico

The pandemic has profoundly impacted socio-health systems and health workers around the world. In particular, the lack of knowledge of the virus and the important commitment required to tackling the pandemic, often with insufficient PPE, have caused an increase in stress levels in nurses. Professional experience and the fear of possible infections in the socio-family network were identified among the main risk factors for stress in operators, especially for those who provided direct assistance to patients. Quite the opposite, good social and organizational support would appear to have positively influenced stress levels.

La pandemia ha impattato profondamente su sistemi sociosanitari e operatori di tutto il mondo. In particolare, la scarsa conoscenza del virus e l’impegno richiesto nel contrasto al contagio, spesso con DPI insufficienti, hanno aumentato i livelli di stress negli infermieri. Soprattutto in chi forniva assistenza diretta ai pazienti, l’inesperienza professionale e la paura di eventuali contagi nella rete socio-familiare sono stati tra i principali fattori di rischio stress.
