My aim in this article is to compare the notions of non-being and negation that emerge in the context of the ontological conception of Plato’s Sophist and the tinological conception outlined in Meinong’s Gegenstandstheorie. It will be shown how, although in different philosophical perspectives, Plato and Meinong adopt a similar strategy towards the problem of non-being that leads to similar results.

Abstract
My aim in this article is to compare the notions of non-being and negation that emerge in the context of the ontological conception of Plato’s Sophist and the tinological conception outlined in Meinong’s Gegenstandstheorie. It will be shown how, although in different philosophical perspectives, Plato and Meinong adopt a similar strategy towards the problem of non-being that leads to similar results.File allegati a questo prodotto
