Purpose: This work constitutes the first part of a project about the optimization of hyperthermia in the treatment of superficial sarcomas. Loco-regional hyperthermia, i.e. increasing tumour temperature to 40-45 °C, is a radio-chemo sensitizer which has been shown to be effective in cancer treatment. However, the effective distribution of the heat delivered to the tumour is still affected by some uncertainties and needs to be known in advance to ensure a proper treatment planning. The idea behind our project is to create a workflow similar to the one employed for the installation of linear accelerators in Radiotherapy departments. The aim of the present work is the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) characterization of an experimental machine equipped with single antenna, according to international protocols

Abstract
The aim of the present work is the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) characterization of an experimental machine equipped with single antenna, according to international protocolsI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
