Abstract

In the extended depth-of-focus (EDoF) intraocular lens (IOL) technology, the focus is extended longitudinally improving the range of vision from far to intermediate, creating a more natural and smoother defocus curve. These new generation of IOLs demonstrated superior range of vision and spectacle independence compared with monofocal IOLs that were targeted to achieve emmetropia. The EDoF IOL Evolve IOL (Soleko) is based on a refractive design principle to continuously extend the depth of focus. The IOL has an aberration-neutral aspheric design and optimized chromatic aberration to improve the quality of vision.
