Covid-19. Alcune lezioni da trarre dalla pandemia in corso

The article examines the current Covid-19 pandemic. We can learn some lessons from considering how humanity has responded to it. Successes and failures are briefly discussed (the failures of nations found unprepared to deal with the pandemic and the lack of global cooperation to secure vaccines to the world population stand against the successes of scientific research and international cooperation to sequence the virus and to develop a vaccine). The pandemic can show the value of the model of democratic Enlightenment. This model is distinguished from the anti-science stances employed by populist politicians as well as from those (nations and scholars) who endorse science and rational thought but do not trust democracy and political decision by consensus.
