The inscription published in CIL, VI 8534, known only from a XVI century drawing and now lost, has always been referred to the ratio castrensis, but an alternative reading is also possible. According to this new proposal, the text could rather to refer to a pantomime named Castrensis and qualified as Maior, since there were more actors with the same name.
