Postcritica: non più soggetto né sostanza

The article touches on the ontological questions that make postcritique a promising research method. Postcritique will therefore be described as an attitude to the study of reality as composed of configurations within which entities are what they are by virtue of the ties they have to one another. Postcritique, then, is a method to investigate ties in the first place. The article discusses the three fundamental premises of this proposal, namely, its conception of the subject, its theory of action and its basic mereology. Not only do these premises make sense of the distance between postcritique and the dominant paradigms of nineteenth-century philosophy; they also clarify the most relevant consequences of its relational ontology. The entities that compose reality are relational effects, so much so that no entity is per se individual. Rather, it is amenable to individuation within a process of abstraction.
