Serpulidae polychaetes associated to coralligenous assemblages upon vertical walls (10-30 m depth) have been studied along P.ta del Lazzaretto, Giglio Island (Tuscany). High species richness and high density values have been recorded in all bio-concretion samples. Although they are not primary builders, these calcareous tube worms have a pivotal role in secondary construction and in enhancing biodiversity.

Abstract
Serpulidae polychaetes associated to coralligenous assemblages upon vertical walls (10-30 m depth) have been studied along P.ta del Lazzaretto, Giglio Island (Tuscany). High species richness and high density values have been recorded in all bio-concretion samples. Although they are not primary builders, these calcareous tube worms have a pivotal role in secondary construction and in enhancing biodiversity.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
