Within this general objective, the research has as specific objectives to contribute, through the use of the operational tools of the questionnaire and the infographic maps, to the construction of a research network able to foster dialogue and exchange of information within the scientific community and to identify those practices and survey strategies that could identify a possible research paradigm for design as the gnoseological foundation of the discipline.

Abstract

Faced with a contemporary design that is increasingly breaking down its disciplinary boundaries, both with art, economics, science and technology, it’s born the need to return to its roots in the evolutionary of its history that has seen it transformed over time in order to not completely dissolve within what is an increasingly widespread and impalpable panorama of design. From these epistemological considerations, it develops the interest in the particular aspects of the research in design. Specifically, the doctoral thesis, after having placed the research in its broader strand of Design Research, intends to give an overview of current design research through an international mapping operation within the Cumulus association. The ReVeDA - Research Vectors through Arts and Design mapping is aimed at the development of methods, tools, strategies that allow first of all a reading and then an analysis of the multiple factors that characterize the current design research.
