This article aims to highlight the value of philosophical journals for the pro- motion and diffusion of knowledge. In twentieth century Italian culture, philosophical journals present themselves as effective pedagogical tools: they give voice to theoretical and practical-political demands and acquire a civil function. The analysis of the 1929 "Giornale critico della filosofia italiana", highlighting the political and cultural events of Italy of those years, exemplifies the mutual incidence between philosophical knowledge and its historical, political and cultural time.
