This work is a lexicographical investigation of the uses of the terms εὐσέβεια, εὐσεβής and εὐσεβέω in the LXX. The use of εὐσέβεια and of the cognate terms could be defined as problematic and apparently anomalous. In fact, if we consider that the biblical text largely concerns the relationship between the people of Israel and their God, and that the Greek word that best describes the right attitude of men towards the divinity is precisely εὐσέβεια, it would be believed that such terms have a central role in the LXX. However, the occurrences of these words are, to say the least, sporadic. This contribution discusses the main opinions of scholars on the issue and at the end we purposes a solution to this question.

Abstract
This contribution discusses the main opinions of scholars on the issue and at the end we purposes a solution to this question.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
