La città oltre le mura: nuove indagini topografiche sugli edifici religiosi extraurbani di Leopoli – Cencelle (Tarquinia VT).

The high number of archaeological excavation at Leopoli-Cencelle site provides an image of a multiform city in terms of urban planning and chronological stratigraphy. Nonetheless, we can currently describe in detail spaces and lifestyles of limited sectors and buildings. The rest continues to remain a smoky image of what was materially built and its functions. This uncertainty affects above all the extra-urban areas and some sectors inside the walls located away from the civil and religious city center. However, the latest topographical surveys have certainly increased our knowledge about the site, noting the presence of new pieces of the urban mosaic, but also allowing a new reading and a reinterpretation of some already known data.
