This essay aims to illustrate the concept of harmony in Heraclitus, a kind of harmony which is all but peaceful, instead having its root in strife, the core of Heraclitus' doctrine; still, everything that exists, by virtue of having a place and a function carefully assigned to itself by the universal λόγος, is secretly cooperating with its so-called opposites ad enemies in weaving the fabric of the world, which is built on the balance and tension of opposites, in a true hidden (or inapparent) harmony, as the philosopher called it. So, while common men live mutilated lives, content with choosing one side of every conflict and only appreciating one single system of thought, unable to embrace the inherent contrasts and contradictions of the cosmos, the true sapient is capable of freely moving from one system to another, following the cosmos' continuous variations and changes of balance, never dismissing anything as 'wrong' or excluding it from his horizon.
