The present paper has the twofold objective. to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the applicable handover techniques in a integrated terrestrial-satellite system and to collect the main results in the Mobility research area obtained in the framework of the ACTS project ACCORD. Dealing with the Mobility Management functionality involved in a multi-environment integrated system, the paper details several Inter Segment Handover mechanisms and takes into account the essential role of QoS parameters in the handover operation.

Abstract
The present paper has the twofold objective. to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the applicable handover techniques in a integrated terrestrial-satellite system and to collect the main results in the Mobility research area obtained in the framework of the ACTS project ACCORD. Dealing with the Mobility Management functionality involved in a multi-environment integrated system, the paper details several Inter Segment Handover mechanisms and takes into account the essential role of QoS parameters in the handover operation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
