La forma oltre la forma. Gli sviluppi dell'icona bizantina nella pittura religiosa di El Greco

The paper analyses the question of what “form” takes on meaning in our culture through the religious and aesthetic issue of Byzantine Holy Icons. From this point of view we are going to investigate the problem of the “form beyond the form” as a shape beyond his sensitive image. In this regard as specific issue of our discussion we will consider the development of the Icon-form (as mental and conceptual shape) from the Byzantine ages to the religious painting of El Greco.
