Oxidative addition of MeI to an Ir(I) centre is 4-120 times faster than that to an analogous Rh(I) centre, whereas the migration of methyl onto coordinated CO in the cor-responding systems is 10(5)-10(6) times faster for Rh(III) than Ir(III).
