Gli spazi aperti della scuola come infrastrutture tecnologiche verdi per la città

The concept of green infrastructure, as defined by the European Community, refers to an idea of multifunctional infrastructural work and assumes roles and feedbacks to the city which go beyond the ecological-environmental functions, including aspects referred to urban comfort, health, education and learning activities for a more responsible citizenship. In this direction, the open spaces of educational infrastructure can be rethought as nodal intersections of a school-city macro-system: a complex system where technological, ecological and social elements co-exist and co-evolve within a vision linking the resource preservation culture with the living sustainability culture.

Nelle aree urbanizzate, la considerevole presenza nel patrimonio scolastico di spazi aperti, spesso sottoutilizzati, permette di ipotizzare un loro ripensamento come infrastrutture condivise tra scuola e città, entro cui co-programmare, co-progettare e co-gestire soluzioni per rispondere alla domanda sempre più articolata e variabile di luoghi collettivi flessibili, adattivi e confortevoli. Il saggio, partendo dalla definizione di green infrastructure, formulata dalla Comunità Europea, presenta un’ipotesi di intervento per trasformare gli spazi aperti delle scuole in infrastrutture multifunzionali, dedicate a far germogliare una nuova cittadinanza multietnica, partecipativa e ambientalmente responsabile.
