This special issue of the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Psychotherapy focuses on historical and contemporary attitudes of psychiatric, psychoanalytic and mental health professionals toward homosexuality in countries outside the US. In the US, there has been a growing literature on the subject in the last two decades. However, there appears to be much less written in other countries. This collection is an attempt at beginning to correct that omission.
