Within the huge, monumental, spectacular context of the cemeteries of Cyrene, the introduction and the use of the "arcosolium" has been for too long a secondary matter. After so many years of new field surveys in Cyrene and after new studies on funerary typologies, it is possible to formulate some interpretative hypothesis on distribution and use of the arcosolium in the Cyrenaean necropolis.
