This article considers the symbolic dimension of religious places of the heretics in the Theodosian Code. Moving from some general assessments, the paper analyzes connotations and negative qualifications used by the legislator to put out of law heretics and to describe their lived place: places in which they worship and those they are condemned to as outcast of the society.
