This paper describes the evaluation of an ITS technology within an airport. It is currently being tested at the airport of Milano Linate to support the handling of aircrafts on the ground, from the stands to the runway, by means of an Automatic Taxiway Guidance Lights System called ASMGCS. This System mainly aims at improving air transport safety and at reducing CO2 emissions. This article aims at providing an overview on the method applied and on the evaluation results, in particular on the technical performance of the System and on the tests carried out, in order to provide instructions to reach the objectives pursued by the System.

Abstract
This paper describes the evaluation of an ITS technology within an airport. It is currently being tested at the airport of Milano Linate to support the handling of aircrafts on the ground, from the stands to the runway, by means of an Automatic Taxiway Guidance Lights System called ASMGCS. This System mainly aims at improving air transport safety and at reducing CO2 emissions. This article aims at providing an overview on the method applied and on the evaluation results, in particular on the technical performance of the System and on the tests carried out, in order to provide instructions to reach the objectives pursued by the System.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
