The design of an electrical system must consider the installation and for the operation plan the predictable sets as ordinary and alternative. The topology of the power system can allow by design operational performances for service continuity such as flexibility, fault selectivity, recoverability from failures, easy maintenance and reparability of the system on its parts. This paper formulates the basis for an operational language and a criteria guideline for safety and integrity procedures, which require continuous training and practice. It assumes as reference a MV distribution system with a general topology of at least two independent sections, provided powered simultaneously by two utility sources.
