LETTURE INTRECCIATE: L’INTERVENTO SUL NEUES MUSEUM DI BERLINO. Intervista ad Andrea Grimaldi e Andrea Pane

The text proposes a reading, 11 years after its completion, of a work that has represented a paradigm shift towards the intervention on the existing historical architectural heritage. The structure of the paper is focused on a series of questions asked to the writer and to Prof. Andrea Pane of University Federico II of Naples, on the concept of authorship of the contemporary project; on the respect and role of pre-existence in the proposal of recovery of a historical artifact; on the idea of interpretative reconstruction of what is materially lost; on the relationship between container and content; on the specificity of each restoration intervention and the degree of replicability and, finally, on the modalities of urban reintegration chosen for the architectural definition of the building.

Il testo propone una lettura, a distanza di 11 anni dal suo completamento, di un’opera che ha rappresentato un cambio di paradigma nei confronti dell’intervento sul patrimonio storico architettonico esistente. La struttura dello scritto è incentrata su di una serie di domande poste a chi scrive e al prof. Andrea Pane della Federico II di Napoli, sul concetto di autorialità del progetto contemporaneo; sul rispetto e ruolo della preesistenza nella proposta di recupero di un manufatto storico; sull’idea di ricostruzione interpretativa di quanto materialmente perso; sul rapporto tra contenitore e contenuto; sulla specificità di ogni singolo intervento di restauro e sul grado di replicabilità e infine sulle modalità di reintegrazione urbana prescelte per la definizione architettonica dell’edificio.
