La modellazione delle superfici murarie del Tempio del Divo Claudio a Roma

The representation of the archaeological survey becomes more and more frequently the subject of study at a time when new methods of surveying are applied to archeology. In this study - carried out in close collaboration with archaeologists – an attempt is made to sketch out the way which starts from a point cloud and leads to the construction of models that can be read and used on various levels and indirectly by the more experienced user and that with only a basic knowledge. The remains of the large base of the Temple of Claudius on the Caelian Hill in Rome have been choses as the theme and example of experiments of this kind.

La rappresentazione del rilievo archeologico diventa sempre più tema di studio in un momento in cui le nuove metodologie del rilevamento entrano nell’archeologia. In questa ricerca, portata avanti a stretto contatto con archeologi, si tenta di stilare un percorso in cui, partendo da una nuvola di punti, sia possibile realizzare dei modelli che possano essere letti e utilizzati a vari livelli e in maniera trasversale dall’utente più esperto a quello con conoscenze di base. Tema ed esempio di tale sperimentazione sono i resti del grande basamento del tempio di Claudio sul colle Celio in Roma
