Narrating World War II: Transcultural Articulations of Postmemory in Literature and Other Media

The primary objective of this issue of Status Quaestionis is to provide readers with an overview of transcultural articulations of the postmemory of World War II in literature and other media. The contributions offer patterns of profitable dynamics that go beyond competitive logics of remembrance, thus creating a transnational, intercultural, intersecting, and multidirectional dialogue between different memorial subjects and histories. The research aims at promoting and enhancing intellectual exchanges on the multiple narratives of World War II within an interdisciplinary framework, while also pondering on the potential of postmemory as an effective methodology for dealing with the psychological, cultural, and artistic aftereffects of the “total war”.
