EnglishThe aim of this paper is to offer an overview of the state of the research in Italy in the field of Polish theatre. Both the dramaturgical aspect, which concerns the circulation of literary texts written by Polish playwrights, and the knowledge of the most important Polish theatre directors, in the past century and in the present, are analysed. The lack of a systematic study of the subject among Polish studies in Italy has resulted in a partial and arbitrary diffusion of Polish theatre. Except for a few names, it still remains quite unknown to the Italian public. However, a slow improvement is to be observed in recent years, thanks to the commitment of the young generation of researchers, who seems to be rediscovering a new interest in this field.
