Geography and sacred space. The process of social construction of gurdwara Discussing sacred space means addressing issues of geographical discipline. The adop- tion of a definition of sacred space as social space is the point of this article starting. With the description of the elements that make up the construction of a sacred space, aims to reflect on the dynamics of relations and the power involved in the process; In particular, the article focuses on the socio-cultural process by which space is presented as sacred in the context of immigration, and how social actors interact. Reconstruct the events related to the construction of the Gurdwara of Sabaudia in the province of Latina and San Bonifacio near Verona as possible examples to analyze the conflicts that arise in the appropriation of space between the different social com- ponents, offering An opportunity for reflection on the contribution of social geogra- phy in a field of research so important to today’s reality as the study of the interaction between space, society and religion.
