The article proposes a first approach to La Comedia de los vicios de Cómodo emperador romano y su muerte y elección de Pertinaz y triunfo suyo en Roma, an anonymous piece in four acts, which the codex II-463 of the Real Biblioteca (ff. 111r-126v) transmits us, especially through the analysis of the mechanisms of dramatic space construction. As the long title indicates, the drama focuses on the figure of Emperor Commodus (161-192 AD) and presents some characteristics that bring it closer to the Tragedy of the generación de los 80, although with significant changes that already foretell the transit to the comedia nueva formula.
