Il fondo Francesco Paolo Michetti dell'aerofototeca nazionale: letture e ipotesi di un'indagine

This article presents the results of a research, still in progress, about a photographic collection ignored up to this time. These 80 photographs, part of Aerofototeca Nazionale collection (ICCD), were a section of Francesco Paolo Michetti (1851-1929) archive and show many aeronautical subjects. The artist's imaginary iIs apparently unrelated to this theme so the collection’s content is quite surprising. Therefore, the investigation attempts to evaluate evidences and clues in order to hypothesize why these photographs were part of the original archive located in Francavilla al Mare. Furthermore, some people close to the painter, like his sons and his friend Gabriele D’Annunzio, have been taken into consideration, besides the role of Francavilla’s clubhouse.
