Libri dal libro, libri nel libro. I numerosi volti del Codex Seguierianus di Cipriano (Par. lat. 10592)

The so-called Codex Seguierianus (Par. lat. 10592) is a late antique witness of Cyprian’s writings, which took different facies during its lifetime. By means of an integrated analysis of its graphic, bibliological and textual features and the meticulous observation of codicological peculiarities (signatures, marginalia and restorations), this paper attempts to reconstruct the manuscript’s stratigraphy and to retrace, backward in time, the book’s biography. In this way, this research reveals that the codex has turned into “various books” over time and it was born as “books in the book”, because of its complex genesis.
