The reflection at the center of the Dossier Building the public space, which takes up the question of what the modes of interaction between public space and artistic practice are, is contextualized in a process of deepening across the board, from the international to the national context and Roman, on the essential role of public space and, more generally, of the public city, as a structural component of urban regeneration strategies, for the purpose of governing the contemporary city. It, therefore, presents itself as an occasion for the confluence of some thematic nodes, which are configured as areas of disciplinary innovation, central to the objectives and policies of the European urban agenda, which for years have played an important role in research and experimentation activities, dissemination and training that the PDTA Department carries out as proactive interpreter of requests for change.
