Striae distensae are a common finding in adolescents of both sexes, particulary females. They develop on the abdomen, thighs and female breasts, and lower part of the back. Striae show a progression of clinical appearances, earlier as flat, pink lesions which gradually fades to leave a white, depressed scar. The histopatological changes are characterized by collagenous sclerosis in both superficial and medium dermis. In the present study we analyzed the clinical and histopatological findings of striae distensae taken by punch biopsy in 5 female and 1 male patient from 18 to 45 years. © Copyright 2007, CIC Edizioni Internazionali.

Abstract
Striae distensae are a common finding in adolescents of both sexes, particulary females. They develop on the abdomen, thighs and female breasts, and lower part of the back. Striae show a progression of clinical appearances, earlier as flat, pink lesions which gradually fades to leave a white, depressed scar. The histopatological changes are characterized by collagenous sclerosis in both superficial and medium dermis. In the present study we analyzed the clinical and histopatological findings of striae distensae taken by punch biopsy in 5 female and 1 male patient from 18 to 45 years. © Copyright 2007, CIC Edizioni Internazionali.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
