The reuse of the ancient architectures needs an organic approach to the pre-existence. The energy retrofit requires the adaptation of the existing to new performance standards. So this implies the transfer to pre-industrial buildings of new products and technologies to improve comfort levels. This, also claims as design support, a series of checks. The role of compatibility in this process is essential. Compatibility, in fact, directly and indirectly, creates a dense system of circuits: states actors, tools and flows.
