Abstract
The existing Sardinia-Corsica-Italy (SaCoI) multiterminal HVDC link, commissioned in 1990, will be refurbished by Terna in the next years, due to ageing and technological obsolescence. The possible technical solutions were investigated by Terna and Sapienza University. The paper deals with the comparison of three alternative solutions for the SaCoI, using either direct current or alternating current: results evidence that both alternatives are theoretically feasible, although with different advantages and disadvantages.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
