Dialogues the Carmélites by Georges Bernanos is a composition, which was initially intended as a cinema screenplay which could be reused as a drama in theatre. Set in the post-revolutionary France of 1794, the protagonists are nuns condemned to the guillotine because they refuse to break their vows. My paper consists on an analysis of the character Blanche De La Force considered the ultimate representation of fear. Key moments of Luca Ronconi’s stage representation drama (1988) will be also examined.
