This work comes from the reflections carried out for the author's thesis (Topografia Antica, Supervisor Prof. G. Iaculli, Università di Chieti) about the archaeological mapping through Geo-graphic Information Systems. We focused in particular on geo-referenced census of known archaeological heritage as the essential base for building archaeological maps suitable for the purposes of research, protection and enhancement. Bearing in mind the gaps of archaeological mapping in Abruzzo, we tried to prepare a draft of 'geo-referenced repertory' of the archaeological knowledge preserved in published literature or in the Superitendence's archives. In the design phase we decided to modularize the completion of the mapping; also, we chose reference system and raster and vector planimetric bases; later, we approached the decisive phase of the vector modeling of the archaeological heritage; much attention has been paid to the more precise geo-referencing of the data. We conducted, therefore, an experimentation in the section '360-III (Capestrano)', the results of which are summarized below.

Abstract
We conducted, therefore, an experimentation in the section '360-III (Capestrano)', the results of which are summarized below.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
