The Italian novelist Alba de Céspedes (Rome, 1911 - Paris, 1997), whose Cuban ancestry participated to significant moments in the history of Cuba, had been linked to the Caribbean country, intellectually and politically, for much of the twentieth century. Abstract
The Italian novelist Alba de Céspedes (Rome, 1911 - Paris, 1997), whose Cuban ancestry participated to significant moments in the history of Cuba, had been linked to the Caribbean country, intellectually and politically, for much of the twentieth century. One of the literary obsessions that she could not finish was an autobiographical book contextualized in the history of Cuba, "Con grande amore". This project has been preserved in the vastness of the author's archive, it represents the deep research established between historical, literary and cultural sources. In the conserved manuscripts of the unfinished work two dimensions of the narration are glimpsed: historical (realistic) and mythological (or magical-religious matrix). The interest of the present work is to cover the approach of the writer to the Cuban myths in her own novel.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
