The spectral emission of LED displays has a blue component that can potentially impact human health under both the photobiological and the circadian point of view. In this paper the spectral emission of three LED display has been measured and analyzed. For each display, 21 different combinations of screen settings (white, white with black test, black, and blue), brightness levels (100% and 500%) and observation distances (20 cm, 50 cm and 70 cm) have been experimentally evaluated within a test cabin equipped with a spectrophotometer and a broad band photoradiometer. The photobiological safety and circadian effects have been analyzed in order to evaluate the interaction between displays and human health.

Abstract
The spectral emission of LED displays has a blue component that can potentially impact human health under both the photobiological and the circadian point of view. In this paper the spectral emission of three LED display has been measured and analyzed. For each display, 21 different combinations of screen settings (white, white with black test, black, and blue), brightness levels (100% and 500%) and observation distances (20 cm, 50 cm and 70 cm) have been experimentally evaluated within a test cabin equipped with a spectrophotometer and a broad band photoradiometer. The photobiological safety and circadian effects have been analyzed in order to evaluate the interaction between displays and human health.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
