The article provides a detailed overview of the International Standard on Records Management (ISO 15489) and presents the results of the UNI (Italian Organization for Standardization) Subcommittee devoted to the translation of the Standard. A very general overview of the main initiatives dealing with record management models, and a brief introduction providing the theoretical ground for record management complete the article.
