Adopting standardization processes and creating structures of metadata represent a debate ground for Archival Science, which has been pressed to enrich its contents by contact with new disciplines. Pointing out the large development context, the Author proposes an approach aimed to deepen the meaning of standards and metadata and find out their evolution lines inside archival tradition.
