Starting from the ‘rhetoric style’ of the baroque painting, this paper will try to briefly revisit the concept of sacred especially as it was developed in the context of the Counter-reformation. Under the impetus of this religious vision it is in fact right to recognize the new bounds that tie the person who observe the scene of the mystery play with the idea of infinity.
